About Future Age
Future Age is an airbag belt designed primarily to protect the femoral head when seniors, people undergoing rehabilitation, or employees working in a variety of environments experience a fall.
Positioned as a next-generation fall safety solution, this specially designed airbag belt is slim and lightweight. Simply by wearing it, built-in sensors detect a fall and automatically inflate the airbag.
After deployment, the product can be easily reused by using a dedicated replacement kit.
Why Is an Airbag to Protect the Femoral Head Necessary?
This product was developed to address the following issues.
Did you know that among patients aged 65 and older who have experienced a proximal femoral fracture, as many as 1 in 4 (27.3%) die within one year? (*1)
In addition, more than 1 in 4 older adults experience at least one fall each year (*2). This significantly increases the risk of subsequent falls, making them twice as likely to fall again compared with those who have not experienced a fall (*3).
In Japan, the leading cause of hip fractures among older adults is falls. In particular, falls account for approximately 77.7% of proximal femoral fractures. Among adults aged 90 and older, this figure rises to 84.1%. (*4)

How the Airbag Is Activated
Future Age is based on a patented system equipped with an accelerometer that detects the wearer’s body movements and a gyroscope that detects body tilt.
A built-in system housed at the waist analyzes data from each sensor in real time. Using an algorithm designed to identify dangerous situations, it anticipates falls before they occur and deploys the airbag before impact with the ground, helping to protect the body effectively.
